I am trained as a master’s level social worker and a Doctor of Clinical Psychology. I have over 20 years of experience working with teens and adults. As a psychologist, my expertise is working with anxiety and depressive disorders including generalized anxiety and social anxiety. I also have experience working with complex trauma and post-traumatic stress disorder. My theoretical orientation is a combination of cognitive behavioral and dialectical behavioral therapies. I also incorporate breath and mindfulness when appropriate.

I am trained as a yoga teacher and yoga therapist. When a friend invited me to her yoga class in 2000, almost 25 years ago, I saw yoga simply as another form of exercise. Before long, my sometimes yoga practice became a two or three-times-a-week practice. With a consistent yoga practice, I noticed I was no longer depressed, and I found lasting relief from lower back pain despite scoliosis. My yoga practice also taught me that I didn’t know how to breathe. My breath was either caught in my throat or I unconsciously held my breath. The breathing aspect of yoga was the most difficult part of yoga for me to learn.

As I continued to learn and grow from yoga, I knew it was time to dive deeper. I applied for yoga teacher training. I wanted to give back and share the benefits of yoga with others. Given the positive impact of a yoga practice in my life, I became a registered yoga teacher in 2015, a Phoenix Rising Yoga Therapist in 2019, and a 900-hour IAYT-certified yoga therapist in 2021.

Here I Am, Now.

It’s 2024 and I am still practicing!

I firmly believe that one size does not fit everyone. Psychotherapy is client-centered and infused with Cognitive Behavioral and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy interventions. Yoga therapy is focused on the body and your awareness of sensations, feelings, and emotions in the present moment. Whether we engage in talk therapy or yoga therapy, I offer you a client-centered experience - meaning that I am with you - wherever you are and however you are. I will tailor a talk therapy or yoga therapy practice just for you. We will work toward greater insight, self-awareness and being your very best self.

I am honored to share in your journey of self-discovery.
